The collection of rain water can be divided into roof rainwater collection system and ground rain water collection system.

Roof rainwater collection system can be divided into gravity rainwater collection system and siphoning rainwater collection system. Compared with ground and road, it can collect rain water with better quality, and the investment of rainwater treatment equipment can be reduced.

Ground rainwater collection system is mainly composed of ditch, well and permeable system.

Ditch: Drainage ditch. The main drainage ditches in market are – U-type liner drainage ditch, slot drainage ditch, PE drainage ditch, etc…

Well: Integral (combined) PE rainwater inspection well.

Permeable System: permeable well rainwater inlet, permeable rainwater flow well, permeable rainwater well, water collection permeable well, permeable overflow well, permeate drainage board, ceramic water permeable silicon sand brick, etc… 

Formed rainwater storage tank and plastic module combination pond are the main method that adopted by market.

Formed rainwater storage tank can be installed on the ground directly, collecting rainwater from roof and other gathering place. The volume is small, which is suitable for villa.

Plastic module combination pond is composed of polypropylene plastic unit module, which formed as an underground water storage pond. It is surrounded by impermeable geotextile or single way permeable geotextile according to the project requirements. 

Rainwater purification normally adopts physicochemical treatment method. Secondary water quality requirements can be basically satisfied through quartz sand and activated carbon filter. According to size of purification system, it can be divided into integrated rainwater treatment equipment and rainwater treatment station.

For the roof and ground rainwater of large-scale public buildings, residential areas, building groups, after collection and primary treatment, it can be used on:

2.     Groundwater replenishment

3.     Landscape and greening

4.     Car washing and road washing

5.     Cooling water replenishment

Besides, the recycle of rainwater can prevent the city from the flood caused by concentrated rainstorm, and the secondary disaster caused by the flood.

The process of rainwater purification depends on the water quality and use purpose. As miscellaneous water, simple and practical is the principle of process, physicochemical treatment method such as coagulation, sedimentation and filtration should be chosen.
